The Dahrendorf Panel
“Europe in a Changing World” is a project of the Dahrendorf Programme that has investigated the mutual perceptions and relations of China, India, Russia, Turkey and the U.S – the five CITRUS countries – with Europe by means of monthly webinars across fifteen time zones, thematic and country-based expert presentations, conferences at each of the participating institutions, and two waves of opinion polling conducted in partnership with the European Council on Foreign Relations. The WZB and SCRIPTS have been collaboration partners in the project for the past two years in a network of institutions of European higher learning with leading universities in the CITRUS countries. The project has been generously supported by the Stiftung Mercator, together with contributions from individual participating institutions.
WZB Director and SCRIPTS Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Michael Zürn is welcoming international scholars and guests to the Dahrendorf Panel titled “Europe in a Changing World”, chaired by Prof. Dr. Timothy Garton Ash (Professor of European Studies at the University of Oxford). This panel will be a first opportunity for scholars actively involved in the network from Europe, Turkey, and China to discuss some findings and possible conclusions from this first phase of the project’s work, which will subsequently be presented in a multi-author volume. The panel is open for non-conference participants as well, and it will be live-streamed.
Other panelists include:
- Ayşe Kadıoğlu, Sabanci University
- Olivier de France, University of Oxford
- Xiaoyu Lu, Peking University
The event will be streamed here. The WZB data protection notice on photo and film recordings can be found here.
