Berlin is a huge laboratory - here, science interacts with the Berlin ecosystem in so many fields to ensure the success of the major transformations of our time. This often happens in the supposedly invisible - yet we are convinced that science is Berlin's "superpower", a backbone of democracy, but it is sometimes overlooked.

The Berlin University Alliance, the alliance of FU, HU, TU and Charité-Universitätsmedizin, enhances the visibility of cutting-edge research and invites you to experience Berlin as "The open knowledge laboratory - for the great transformations of our time". For this purpose, we are launching a new salon series, the BUA Open Space - an evening where we connect stakeholders from the Berlin ecosystem.

The first BUA OPEN SPACE on "Democracy under pressure" marks the launch of our campaign on May 6, 2024.

In the super election year 2024, democracy in Germany, Europe and worldwide is facing major challenges: Populism, disinformation and a growing divide between civil society and politics are increasingly shaping public discourse. We will discuss these topics with experts from academia, society and politics and cordially invite you to join us and participate in the discussion!
