Ruth Mas is a classically trained scholar of the Islamic theological tradition currently based in NYC. She has spent the last two years at the Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies at Freie Universität as a Senior Visiting Research Fellow. Mas’s current research project involves tracking anti-Islamic discourses throughout Europe, and the pressure these are putting on liberal discourses and models of political and social governance. Ruth Mas will enrich the discussions in SCRIPTS from an area perspective and will assist in the supervision of PhD students.
