Sphoorti is a PhD student at Zakir Husain Centre of Educational Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. She has received Academic Accelerator Fellowship of SCRIPTS for the academic year 2023-2024 and is a visiting research scholar at SCRIPTS, BGTS.

She has finished her Masters in Education at University of Delhi and her integrated Masters in Physics at Regional Institute of Education, Mysore.

Current Research Projects at SCRIPTS

Sphoorti is working on her PhD thesis titled, “Public Debates on the Education of Dalits during 1870s - 1950s: Actors, Agendas and Movements.

While at SCRIPTS, she is exploring the relevance of the framework of contestations of liberal scripts in the context of her PhD topic and also in the context of India.
