Kathrin Stephen (née Keil) is Desk Officer at the German Ministry of Education and Research in Berlin. Before she was Research Group Leader at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany, where she led the Arctic research project GloCAST (Global Change and Arctic Sustainable Transformations). Kathrin received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the BTS in 2013. In her dissertation she researched the international politics of the Arctic, with a focus on international regimes and institutions in the areas of energy, shipping and fishing. She taught at universities in Berlin and Potsdam.
